Vahn Schumacher
Varsity Head Coach
Vahn Schumacher is entering his ninth year of coaching, with the 2026 season marking his first as Head Coach. He graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School, where he was a six-time letter winner in football, track, and baseball. He was named the 2001 Viking of the Year, earned multiple all-district and all-state honors in football and baseball, and was selected to play in the 2001 All-Star Shrine Bowl. He was also part of the 2000 state semifinal baseball team.
After high school, he played college football at Iowa Central Community College and Wayne State College. While at Iowa Central, he was named the 2003 Triton Athlete of the Year. Outside of football, Coach Schumacher has worked at Zinpro Corporation for the past 20 years. He lives in Garner with his wife, Sara, and their five daughters.
